Rügen Baltic beaches
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, GermanyBeaches Verified details
Chalk cliffs, beech forest and long white Baltic beaches.
Germany's largest island pairs the Jasmund National Park — chalk cliffs and UNESCO-listed ancient beech forest — with resort beaches at Binz and Sellin where the water is shallow, calm and warm by late July. The Königsstuhl cliff and the Rasender Roland steam railway are the set pieces. It is a good compromise island: nature in the morning, ice cream on the pier in the afternoon.
