Bohuslän archipelago

Västra Götaland, SwedenKayaking & canoeing Verified details

Smooth pink granite islands, sheltered water and car-free harbours.

The west-coast archipelago is a landscape of bare rounded granite, sheltered channels and small harbours — Smögen, Fjällbacka, Käringön — where boats matter more than cars. Kayaking between islands is the way to see it, and beginners can stay inside the skerries where there is no swell. Swimming is off the rocks rather than beaches, and the water is bracing until late July.

  • Pink granite skerries
  • Car-free harbour islands
  • Sheltered beginner paddling

Campsites that make a good base

Drive times are estimated from road distance, so treat them as a guide rather than a promise.

We don't have a campsite close enough to recommend for this one yet.
