High Coast (Höga Kusten)
Västernorrland, SwedenNational parks Verified details
UNESCO coast where the land is still rising out of the sea.
The fastest post-glacial land uplift measured anywhere — 800 metres since the last ice age, and still going — which has left steep forested hills dropping straight into the Gulf of Bothnia. Skuleskogen National Park has the Slåttdalsskrevan gorge and marked trails of all lengths, and the Höga Kusten bridge is a landmark in its own right. Quiet even in July.
