Kjeragbolten

Three steep climbs over chains and bare rock lead to the Kjerag plateau, where a rounded boulder sits jammed between two cliff faces with a kilometre of air below. The walk is around 10 km return and takes six to ten hours. Snow closes the route until well into June, and the road up Lysebotn is closed all winter. Not a hike for young children or anyone uneasy with exposure.
