Kosterhavet kayaking
Västra Götaland, SwedenKayaking & canoeing Verified details
Sweden's first marine national park, paddled between the Koster islands.
Kosterhavet protects the richest marine waters in Sweden — cold-water coral, seals and an unusual deep trench close inshore. The islands themselves are car-free, so the kayak is the natural way to move around, with sheltered channels for beginners and open crossings for the experienced. Seal spotting is close to guaranteed in summer. Boats run from Strömstad.
- First Swedish marine national park
- Car-free islands
- Reliable seal sightings
