Romantic Road cycling

The cycling version of Germany's best-known tourist road runs 460 km from Würzburg to Füssen, mostly on quiet lanes and river paths. It is gentle as far as Augsburg and only climbs seriously in the last two days. Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Dinkelsbühl and Nördlingen are the highlights — intact medieval towns spaced conveniently at a day's ride apart. Trains parallel most of the route if legs or weather give out.
