Tuscany, ItalyCulture & history Verified details
Chianti hill towns, cypress avenues and cellar tastings.
The classic Tuscan drive: Greve, Radda and Castellina strung along the SR222 through vineyards, with cellars open for tastings and long lunches. Harvest in September and October is the most atmospheric time and the least crowded. It is an adult pleasure — young children lose patience with cellars quickly — though the swimming pools at the agriturismi help enormously.

Campsites that make a good base
Drive times are estimated from road distance, so treat them as a guide rather than a promise.
