Venice day trip
Veneto, ItalyCulture & history Verified details
A car-free city of canals, an hour from the Adriatic campsites.
From the Cavallino and Jesolo campsites, Venice is a boat ride rather than a drive — which is the civilised way to arrive. A day gives you the Rialto, Piazza San Marco and, more rewardingly, the quiet Cannaregio and Dorsoduro lanes behind them. Go early, book anything ticketed in advance, and accept that July midday in Venice is hot, crowded and expensive. The Lido and Burano make gentler alternatives with children.
- Arrive by boat
- Cannaregio back lanes
- Burano and the Lido

Drive times are estimated from road distance, so treat them as a guide rather than a promise.
We don't have a campsite close enough to recommend for this one yet.
