Privacy policy

February 1, 2026

[Company name] (“Bookcamping”, “we”) operates bookcamp.dev. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it. Controller: [Company name], [Street address, postcode, city, Denmark], company registration [CVR number]. Contact: [privacy@bookcamp.dev].

What we collect

  • Account data, if you create one: email address, and the camping preferences you choose to save (equipment, travel group, favourite campsites).
  • Usage data: pages viewed, searches and filters used, campsites opened, and clicks on booking links. This is stored against a rotating pseudonymous visitor identifier, not your name.
  • Technical data: approximate country derived from your IP address, browser language, device type and referring website.
  • Anything you send us: feedback messages and any screenshot you attach.

Why we use it

  • To run the site: showing campsites, remembering your language, currency and saved places.
  • To bill campsite partners. Bookcamping is paid per qualified click through to a campsite's own booking page, so we must be able to count and audit those clicks.
  • To improve the product: understanding which searches fail, which pages are slow and which listings are incomplete.
  • To answer you, if you send feedback.

Legal bases

Running your account and delivering the service you asked for is contract performance. Measuring and billing qualified clicks, and keeping the site secure, is our legitimate interest in operating a marketplace. Optional analytics cookies are used only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share data with our hosting and database provider, which stores it on our behalf inside the EU, and with campsite partners in aggregate form only — a partner sees click and search counts for their own campsite, not individual visitors. When you click a booking link you leave Bookcamping and the campsite's or booking provider's own privacy policy applies.

How long we keep it

  • Account data: until you delete your account.
  • Click and page-event records: 24 months, so a partner can dispute an invoice within a reasonable period. The visitor identifier and user-agent string are cleared after 90 days, leaving only the counts.
  • Feedback: 24 months.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and get it in a portable format. Write to [privacy@bookcamp.dev]. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).

Changes

If we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page.
